The Anti-Twilight Lexicon

Because Plots Rock!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Did You Start This Site?

Quite honestly, I wanted to start a website where I could post my feelings of this book so that others could read it. There are other sites I know, but I wanted to make my own where I could master the archives and post when I wanted to.

Are you trying to convert fans to antis?

No, I am not trying to do that. Though since I am an anti myself, I am not going to lie by saying I don't not hope I will convert someone. But I am not going to try an force you to. On this site, fans can make their points equally alongside anti's if they wish, I will not tolerate people bashing them outrageously ("You're stupid").

If you hate the books so much, why do you spend your time bashing them?

Kat: To be quite honest, the fans. They don't let you speak your mind and it's really tiring. Even my friend Maggie doesn't let me slander Twilight ('I don't want you to ruin it for me'). EDIT: I agree with Myn, it's fun.

Myn: It's fun.  I have a twisted sense of humor.  And what Kat said, only I have a lot more than just a few rabid friends.

To Nicole

To quote Nicole from our guestbook,

It's really sad that you would all waste so much time ripping apart a book that has made so many people happy. What is it with the world today, that we cannot stand seeing other people's joy? So what if you don't find the Twilight saga to your liking, that's the beauty of having individual minds. Don't you think that you are perhaps demeaning yourselves by being so blatantly, outright rude and obnoxious. Who care if the majority of the fans are young girls. We were all there once, whether your genre was the Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, whoever. What I like and which books I read really shouldn't have an impact on your everyday lives. It's very sad to see that we spend so much time trying to make others unhappy, that if we used that time constructively instead, this world would be a much better place, for everyone. Regardless of what books you read. Think about it.

I'm going to respond to this.

We don't spend a whole lot of time on the website.  Nowadays, website building has become increasingly easier.  We don't mind fangirls, many come visit our site for fun, including one very dedicated Twilight Mom.  Of course we don't find the Twilight Saga to our liking, but for reasons you state, that's the joy of having individual minds.  We don't demean fangirls, they are perfectly sane people with a nice sense of humor.  We're just kindly trying to point out that young girls today waste their lives fantasizing themselves in bed with a fictional character.  Kat and I are at the age where fangirls are plentiful, and we hate this stereotype.  But I speak for myself when I say I was never into things like the Spice Girls or lame celebrities who need to really look out the window one of these days.  I was always the odd one out, and even now, I still seem to be.  I respect your opinion, Nicole, as you seem to be able to type coherently, but this site's all in good fun.  Check the FAQs.
And where are we demeaning, rude, or obnoxious?

Good luck in life.

A Small Note on the Naming of this Site

To confused people who have commented on this site, I feel the need to address something. Apparently, this site has been interpreted as a hate site against the Twilight Lexicon. This is not, Not, NOT a hate site against the Twilight Lexicon....or Twilight for that matter. This site critiques Twilight. Hence why we actually care. Most of us are just people who liked Twilight or had expectations, and were thoroughly disappointed by the series.

The naming of this site was a personal backlash at the Harry Potter Lexicon. The site was created during the copyright infringement lawsuit of Rowling vs. RDR. I chose the Lexicon name as it was one of the most negative things in the fandom that I felt Twilight had been attacking too much at the moment.

The hyphenation of the Anti-Twilight and not the Lexicon means that it is a Lexicon dealing with Anti-Twilight matters. Otherwise, it would have correctly been titled as either the Anti-Twilight-Lexicon or the Anti Twilight Lexicon.

...sorry for the mini rant, but I want to express that this is in no way a personal attack at the Twilight Lexicon...
